Let's Squash It! Challenge #27 - Snowflakes and Stars

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 27th challenge here at

Let's Squash It!

Let's Squash It! is The Embossing Folder Challenge.

We are gonna help you explore the world of the not so humble embossing folder and encourage you to dig 'em out, knock the dust off and find old, new and fun ways to make your projects pop.

We have an awesome team to keep you entertained and awesome challenge themes to stretch your creativity and get you using all those long forgotten and neglected embossing folders.
For those of you who are just tuning in you can check the previous posts for the story behind the genesis of the challenge and the technique posts for awesome tips and techniques to help you make the most of your supplies and folders.

Challenges start on the 10th of the month and run to the last day at 23.59 GMT.  We will be picking top picks and a winner, who will have a chance to be our guest designer for a future challenge.

There is a little prize on offer for a randomly selected winner and
these will all be announced on the 8th of next month.

Hello Squashettes, Gail here.
Welcome to the December challenge here at Let's Squash It!  It's the last challenge of the year and, I am a little sad to say, that this is also going to be the last challenge here at Let's Squash It! for the time being.   Jo and I had a little chat and have decided to suspend the challenge after this month.  The blog will remain open so you can still check back for masses of awesome inspiration but there will be no more challenges, at least for now.  We would like to thank everyone who has joined in with love, joy and enthusiasm the last two years.  We have been so touched with your support and impressed with all your cards.  Thank You.

But we are not gone yet......

So, Challenge #27
And this month's theme is...

Snowflakes and Stars

Use an embossing folder and show us snowflakes and/or stars!

Please don't forget to check da roolz to ensure your entry will be eligible for the random prize draw!

We are very pleased to have our Let's Squash It!! Empress joining us as our guest designer this month.

Please welcome the wonderfully talented Linda!

Hi everyone – I’m Linda W. (aka ScrappinBari) who blogs at Scrappin’, Stampin’ & Singin’. I'm excited to be Guest Designing again at Let's Squash It! How time flies - I was Gail and Jo's first Guest Designer back in December 2020, having won the inaugural LSI challenge. I started out scrapbooking but switched to card making in 2007. Since playing at Let's Squash It! my stash of embossing folders has grown - instead of showing love to an old folder, it seems I'm always looking for new ones! Thanks to Gail & Jo for giving me this opportunity!

Linda's Card uses Hero Arts/Sizzix Snowflake Background now retired.

And here's some inspiration from the team...

Gail's Card uses
Crafters Companions Embossing Folder -Parquet and
Hobby Solutions - Let It Snow

Jo's Card uses
Embossing Folder - Sizzix/Tim Holtz Simple Snowflakes

Please do check da roolz to make sure you will be in the running for da prizes.

This months randomly selected winner will be able to choose a prize from the

Now it your turn!
Grab your embossing folders and join the fun.
We are looking forward to seeing your cards.

I know I haven't regularly entered, but I'm sad to see this is the last challenge. You were so creative to have a challenge specifically for embossing folders, which I do love. Thank you for 2 years of inspiration & boy are you going out with a bang! Really love these 3 cards! Merry Christmas!

Very sad to see this challenge end! I joined when I could and I am sorry I could not have participated more, but I so enjoyed the inspiration and different techniques that were promoted here. Will try to join this final challenge if I can. The inspiration cards are gorgeous, and I admit that my snowflake embossing folders are my most used!

Wonderful snowflake EFs and cards!
What a perfect prompt for some last-minute Christmas cards, esp. for me, since I have not been crafting much this year.
So sad to see you have decided to suspend the challenge for now. I do hope you will continue at some point in the future.

I'm sad to see this challenge taking a hiatus but hope it will return in the future. I haven't participated as much as I would have liked but this year hasn't been the best for me. I am going to try and see if I can get something created for this one but I only have a few days to do that so it is looking unlikely.
Thanks Gail and Jo for all the work that you put into getting this up and running and coming up with inspiration and different challenges each month.
Hope you both have a great holiday season.

A big thank you for all the work you’ve put in to the challenge over the last two years, really sad to see this is the end of the road but I’m sure you’ll both be doing wonderful crafty things — may they continue to bring you joy. I’ll aim to be back with snowflakes or stars later to help celebrate LSI!
