More Inspiration for Let's Squash It! Cuz 2 Out of 3 Ain't Bad.....

Hello Squashettes!  Gail here.  I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.  There is only a week left to join our current challenge of Cuz 2 Out of Three Ain't Bad.... where we want you to emboss 2/3rds of your card and leave 1/3rd smooth.

We are loving the different ways you are solving this challenge and the linky gallery is filling up with lots of beautiful creations.  But there is plenty of room for more!!  So grab your folders and get squashing.

I went all red and kraft for my inspiration card today and I've used part of Cuttlebug Little Monsters Vegetable embossing folder on my ex-pizza box kraft card panel.

Love those crazy veg and it seemed to go perfectly with this Carmen's Veranda sentiment and this rather straight looking lady Cressida from North Star stamps.  I smeared the deboss side of the folder with Festive Berries distress ink before embossing the top part of the kraft panel.

Your turn!!   Grab those folders and join the fun.  Hope to see you in the linky.

Thanks for dropping by.  Hugz

Inspiration for Challenge #24

Hi folks, it's Jo on the blog today to share some inspiration to get Mr Mojo engaged for our current challenge...

We have a lovely guest with us for September: Jenny M from My Paper Epiphany.

Take a look at what Jenny created for our launch post.

I just love Jenny's Holiday card and that EF is a stunner. I think embossing can bring extra 'wow' factor to any card, but there's something about using your EFs on Christmas and Holiday cards that just seems so right!

I always like to keep a small stock of thank you cards and so I made this simple little card to add to my stash.

The embossing was created by alternating two Cuttlebug border folders on the central portion of the card. The two squiggly lines are debossed for a little added interest.

This was such a quick and easy card to make with the border folders, yet I hope you'll agree the end result is very pretty and effective. I really enjoyed the challenge of finding a way to emboss just a portion of my card and was so pleased to find yet another way of stretching my existing embossing folders rather than just rushing to buy more.

This fun challenge runs until the end of September and Gail, Jenny and I all hope that you'll come and play along!

Let's Squash It! Challenge #24 - Cuz 2 out of 3 ain't bad...

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 24th challenge here at

Let's Squash It!

Let's Squash It! is The Embossing Folder Challenge.  We are gonna help you explore the world of the not so humble embossing folder and encourage you to dig 'em out, knock the dust off and find old, new and fun ways to make your projects pop.

We have an awesome team to keep you entertained and awesome challenge themes to stretch your creativity and get you using all those long forgotten and neglected embossing folders.
For those of you who are just tuning in you can check the previous posts for the story behind the genesis of the challenge and the technique posts for awesome tips and techniques to help you make the most of your supplies and folders.

Challenges start on the 10th of the month and run to the last day at 23.55 GMT.  We will be picking top picks and a winner, who will have a chance to be our guest designer for a future challenge.  There is a little prize on offer for a randomly selected winner and these will all be announced on the 8th of next month.

So, Challenge #24
And this month's theme is

Use any Embossing Folder AND fill Two Thirds of your card.

Use any embossing folder you choose, but make sure we only see 2/3rds of embossing and a 1/3rd of white space (of any colour!) on your card. We don't mind how you divide-up those proportions and look forward to seeing what you create! Please make sure you include both parts of the challenge on your card and also check da roolz to ensure your entry will be eligible for the random prize draw!

We are very pleased to have our Let's Squash It!! Empress from our August Challenge joining us as our guest designer this month.

Please welcome Jenny Martin

"Hi there! My name is Jenny and I’m from Melbourne Australia. My blog is called My Paper Epiphany. I love trying new media and teqniques, so I don’t think I have a signature style.
I guess my cards are mostly CAS, but I love getting messy too!!
We’re lucky to also have a house in Queenscliff on the Victorian coast, which is where I often spend time on my own (except for 2 dogs), when my Hubby goes back to work!
This is my Happy Place and where I feel most creative."

Let's Squash It! Challenge #23 - Don't be so Square Winners!

Hey, Squashettes, it's Jo here today to share the results of Challenge #23 - where we wanted to see shaped cards and fabulous embossing folder use go hand-in-hand.

Just before we get to the results, I'd like to say a very big thank you to our lovely guest Emma from Trenouth Creations who inspired us with beautiful hexagonal card.
Thanks, Emma, it was great having you as our guest!

Emma, Gail and I really loved seeing your entries
and although the gallery was fairly small it was jam packed
with beautiful creations. You guys really went to town on this one and no mistake!

So, here we go...

We were very impressed with:

What an amazing way to use the theme -
the embossed brickwork surrounding a beautiful stained glass window is genius.

We loved how Tina highlighted that beautiful snowflake.

Congratulations to you both, please grab your badge and flaunt it brazenly on your blogs!

Our Challenge Winner is:

#3 - Joanne

Emma summed up beautifully when she said Joanne's choice and colouring of

that embossing folder makes it 'the star of the show' on her card.

Congratulations, Joanne, please grab your Empress Badge. Gail and I hope you'll join us as a future guest designer. Please email me at dottypudding (at) aol.com so we can make the arrangements!

Finally, we have our Random Prize to award...

It's you #2 - Robyn!

Congratulations to you, Robyn, please take a look in the Prize Vault and email me with your choice of EF and snail mail address at dottypudding (at) aol.com. I'll get your prize on it's way around the world as soon as I hear from you!

Once again, thanks to Emma for being our guest, and also to everyone who played along.

As always, we have a brand new challenge beginning on the 10th of the month, so stay tuned and we'll see you again soon for more squashy fun!
