Welcome, welcome, welcome to the inaugural challenge here at
Let's Squash It!
Let's Squash It! is The Embossing Folder Challenge. We are gonna help you explore the world of the not so humble embossing folder and encourage you to dig 'em out, knock the dust off and find old, new and fun ways to make your projects pop.
We have an awesome team to keep you entertained.
That classic Peas and Carrots/Laurel and Hardy/Squish and Squash pair
Gail and Jo
For those of you who are just tuning in you can check the previous posts for the story behind the genesis of the challenge and the technique post on the 8th, which might be helpful for this challenge!!
Challenges start on the 10th of the month and run to the last day at 23.59 GMT. We will be picking a winner who will have a chance to be our guest designer, and top picks. There is a little prize on offer for a randomly selected winner and these will all be announced on the 5th of next month.
This months prize. Starting with a classic combo
Bingo and Collage embossing folder set
So, Challenge #1. How exciting is that?? Very, from where we are sitting!!!!!!!!
Resisting the temptation to break out in a serious case of cackling!!!!!!
And this month's theme is
Use an Embossing Folder with a Geometric Pattern AND Metallic Card or Metal Sheets
Please check the rules before you link up your makes. We are a card challenge. You must use a named embossing folder. Other types of embossing are allowed to enhance your project but you must use a named embossing folder. Both parts of the challenge must be included and also be the focus of your project. Did I mention the embossing folder???
Here's the inspiration from the team to get us started
Jo made this beautiful card using
We R Memory Keepers Geometric embossing folder
Gail made this buzzy blingy card using
Do-crafts Honeycomb embossing folder
Now it your turn. Grab your metal sheets and geometric folders and join the fun.
We are looking forward to seeing you projects.

Congratulations on your inaugural challenge!!! What a fun idea. Love your Let's Squash It graphic with the roller...lol.. (How do you have time for yet another challenge blog????) As you know, October is a terribly busy month for me with the Cat Lovers Hop, but I hoooooooooooope to try to get an entry in. I do love me some shiny metal.
Love the fab cards you ladies made! The geometric embossing and the glitzy metal make a spectacular pair! Thank you for this intriguing challenge.

What a fun and unique idea, girls! I love it and have bookmarked this and made a note on my desk and wrote it on my hand and taped another note to the bathroom mirror, so there is actually a tiny chance I might remember and join in!! I love the specificity and how cool your inspiration cards are!! Hugs, Darnell
Thanks Janis. Looking forward to the cat hop. Shiny embossed metal plus cat sounds like a winner to me. Hugz
The perfect challenge for me! Love both your cards!
Okay, I admit that you hooked me with that blog badge...and embossing folders. I am somewhat of an embossing folder nut, so this is going to be a fun new challenge. Off to dust off some of my metallic stash and geometric folders to get squashy!
Well hello Darnell. So lovely of you to join us and thanks for the lovely comment. Glad you like our cards and our challenge. See you soon I hope or I'll be knocking on the playhouse door. Hugz
Hi Greta, lovely. Glad you like our cards. Looking forward to seeing your lovely embossing folder projects. Hugz
I have to admit that I am a bit like Gail with stacks of embossing folders - some I bought, some I got with magazines. I think I have 3 or 4 2L containers of them. Now I just have to find some metallic card and some time to join in on this first challenge. Thanks for starting a challenge based on embossing folders though how you find the time I don't know!
Jo has done a fab job with the badges and blog look. Glad you dropped by and we can't wait to see the results of your squashy session. Hugz
Hi Suze, gosh that sounds like a wonderful collection. If you have trouble finding metallic card scroll down to the Technique post for a homemade solution. Looking forward to seeing your makes. Hugz
Don't think I have as many embossing folders as some of you do, but I have a fair few! I'm sure I can scare up a geometric one somewhere... Congrats on the new challenge!!
Excited to see I'm the first with my card ladies. I checked and found I have 139 full sized folders and 23 border folders. Yes, my name is Dawn and I am addicted to Embossing Folders!!!!!
Congrats on your new challenge blog! This first challenge is awesome! Off to play!!!
Quite glad I'm not the only embossing folder addict on the planet. I am sure we will all end up with more as a result of this!!! Thanks and looking forward to your makes. Hugz
Yeah, thank you for being NUMBER 1. Hmmm, that's quite a collection. I steadfastly refuse to count. But don't you have any little square ones? I even have some A4 size that don't even go in my machine. Sane people would ask why? But I am sure addicts understand........ Actually they came in a huge, very cheap bundle I bought so there was a little method in my madness........ Hugz
Thanks Helen. Glad you found us. Hugz
great inspiration - hope to join in.
another embossing folders addict here ... your challenge is perfect for me and I love your badge and inspirations! embossing folders are one of the main reasons I started making cards, I have always loved this great textures ...
Bring on the fun.... huge well done Gail and Jo for starting up a new challenge and helping us to re-visit those Embossing Folders.. hugs Robyn
Congrats on launching this new challenge, dedicated to embossing folders. I can see that they are making a come-back, especially with the new 3D EFs making their appearance. Love the fab graphic and look forward to playing along.

Hi Linby. Looking forward to seeing your card. Hugz
Hi Tina, yes I'm a certified texture freak. Glad you found us. Hugz
Thanks Robyn. Love that card. Hugz
Another fun challenge. I could use my embossing folders more, though I don't have too many geometric ones. But that's what makes it a challenge, right? Good luck with it!
Thanks Marianne. Hope you get time to join the fun. Hugz
Hi Suzanne glad you found us. Yes, the challenge is the fun. Only need one! Hugz
Don't fall down in shock! I managed to make a card and come to play (just playing for fun). What a great challenge ladies - and nope, am not gonna count my folders - far too many! If I die before Len, my friends can take whatever they like from my craft room - on one condition. They are never to utter the words' Sheesh, do you realise how much she spent on craft stuff?'. Good luck with this wonderful challenge Gail and Jo!
Hugs
Di xx
Hi Laurel and Hardy!
What a surprise to found this blog. I hope to join you in the challenges. Good luck and have fun!
Not sure if my link worked so apologies if you get it twice. Stretching a point with the geometric element but I'm only playing for fun as I already have those folders in my stash! Wishing you success with the new challenge.
Hi Di, lovely you found us. Love your beautiful card. Don't count em is my policy LOL. Hugz
Hi GerJanne, lovely to see you here. Looking forward to seeing your card. Hugz
Glad you found us Val. Jo is a linky wizard so I think she has sorted it out. Thanks for playing along, even just for fun. We love fun!!! I am hoping someone wins who doesn't have them. I know they are old, as in have been around a while not as in used, but they are some of my most favourites ever, so I think they will be a valuable addition to anyone's stash. Hugz
Such clever idea!! There isn't a similar challenge in blogland, I think!
I love EF, they are so decorative by themselves, so thank you! Hope to have time enough to join the fun!
Congrats for your new challenge!
Congratulations on your new challenge! What a fun and unique challenge it is too. We all have those amazing embossing folders that get neglected by to much. I am hoping to jump in on this challenge this month. Your inspiration embossed cards are so beautiful and I love the folders you both used. Hugs, Brenda
Hi Alice glad you found us and thanks for your lovely comment. Grab them folders and get squashy. Hugz
Found your blog on Di's post. Looks like it is going to be a really fun one. Love your cute logo. I use a few embossing folders but not nearly enough. Looking forward to some fun challenges here. Your inspiration cards are both so beautiful.
Hi Brenda, welcome. Thanks for your lovely words of encouragement. Looking forward to seeing your cards. Hugz
Congratulations on the inauguration of you new challenge. It is going to be a fun one. I use only a few of my e/f collection. Looking forward to your challenges to use them more. I bookmarked your site so I don't miss any of them. Love both your inspiration cards.
Hi Donna, welcome. Thanks for your kind words. Hope you get a chance to join the fun. Hugz
Hi Donna, thanks and hope you get to join the fun soon. Hugz
WOW! Congrats on the new challenge blog (adding it to my list of MUST PLAY ALONG challenges). I'll be back with a project! BEST OF LUCK!!!
Thanks Darlene. Great to see you here and thanks for starting Two Old Bats. I am enjoying that too. Hugz
Congrats on getting this challenge up and running. I don't believe I've been in an EF challenge before so I think you are the first in the universe :-) All the cards I've seen are wonderful. I have spread the word in my blog today. Thank you for the opportunity to play and use my EF's.
Hi Karen welcome. Loved your card. Thanks for playing along and spreading the word. Hugz
Hi Gail,
Thanks ! I linked my card, but I really don't know the brand. It's not at the folder, unfortunately. Hope it doesn't matter..
Congratulations on your new blog challenge. I love the name. So appropriate since it's Breast Cancer Awareness month and I just had my mammogram. Good luck. I hope I get a chance to join in. I've got to go digging through the stash for some metallic paper.Oh, or maybe some metallic embossing powder. Good luck, y'all and thanks for a fun new place to play.
Love this challenge what a great idea, lovely cards for inspiration. My only problem is I know the make of my embossing folder but not a clue to the name of the pattern, hope it was still ok to enter?
Hi Ladies
A great challenge .. .. looking forward to future weeks.
Love Jules xx
Thanks Bunny. Hadn't clicked the breast cancer significance. And we are pink as well! Purely incidental. I envisioned bright blue and orange, but like so many design ideas it just didn't play out. Jo made the blog look so pretty. Check the technique post for tips on using aluminium foil. Hugz
Hi Nicky, glad you found us. Understandable not everyone will know the exact names on older folders so we will give some leeway. If you know the maker and take a guess at the folder name like stars, crosses, hearts etc it works for us. Hugz
Thanks Jules. Lovely to see you here. Hugz
Congratulations for the new challenge! I will join you as often as I can. Hugs to both of you, my dear ladies.
