IN THE BEGINNING

Hello, hello, hello.
One September afternoon I, Gail, was online shopping, or looking at a pretty card, or maybe thinking of making a pretty card, when suddenly I realised there's a gap in the challenge market!!!
I have never seen a challenge blog dedicated to embossing folders.
So, here it is!!!!

Now, I don't know about you, but I have a particular weakness for embossing folders.  My collection overfloweth.  I have been meaning for many years to organise them.  Enfys once shared a lovely way of doing this; Emboss tags and have them on a ring/string, number them, number the folder, easy to see/find/use.  Great idea!  Still haven't quite got there.  Might have to now.....

Anyway, back to that September afternoon.  To en/dis/courage me in this new endeavour I immediately sought the advice of my good friend and partner in craft Dotty Jo.  Hey Jo, wanna start a blog.  Oh well, wanna start another blog??  Use embossing folders?  Let's Squash It!!!!  Whaddayouthink???  There was a significant pause and then this turned up:

We will take that as a vote of confidence!
And so a new challenge is born.....

As said, I love embossing folders and have 100's.  Well, at least lots.  Another reason for not organising them cos then I might see how many I truly have.  On the other hand Jo declared that she had very few folders as 'I don't really know what to do with them!'   Well, that sounds like another great reason to start an embossing folder challenge blog.

So, we are going to explore the world of embossing folders, share a few techniques, be wowed and enabled by amazing cards and generally have fun.  There will probably be prizes.  Maybe not the most up to date stuff, but certainly classic must-haves.

Check the rules, sign up to friends connect or email,
and pop back on the 10th October for our first challenge.

Let the fun begin..............
Soon................

I certainly don’t use mine often enough so I think you’re going to fill this void in the crafty world! 😄

YAY.... Gail and Jo, I was so happy to find this - I have a weakness for EF too! In fact I am ADDICTED to them!!!! My count is over 100 and growing all the time. I just love them. So I'll be joining you for sure. Love the first challenge theme.

Very excited for this new challenge blog, ladies!! I love EFs, too, and feel they are way underrated in many papercrafters' repertoire of techniques and supplies. I don't have 100s of them, but I do have quite a few and many have never been used....yet! Looking fwd to this new challenge and I love the first theme with the metal. Thank you, Gail and Jo, for this shot of new inspiration! I adore the graphic for the challenge!! lol... Hugs to you both!!

Good luck with the new challenge blog, Iona and Jo! I just found you courtesy of Riet's Facebook post and have shared your blog on my timeline. I don't have many EFs and most of what I do have were free gifts in paper craft magazines. I'll check to see if they are branded and hope to play along from time to time :) x

Hi Riet, glad you found us. Hope you get time to join the fun. Hugz

Hi Carole. Welcome and thanks for your lovely comment. If they are magazine freebies just state that and the pattern, so for example a star folder magazine freebie, and that will be fine. Hope you get time to join us. Hugz

Found this through a friend and I'm so glad I did. I have quite a few embossing folders (and I do have them in a ring and alphabetized) so I'm more than ready for this new challenge. Thanks so much for starting it.

What a great idea, I do love an EF and have a box full of them. I am also drawn to them in the shops as I browse, well no browsing at the mo though. I can over to have a look after seeing you mentioned over at Darnell's blog and I must say you certainly have found a gap in the challenge blog market! Looking forward to joining in. :)
